Spring Axles
The generally accepted measurements that define spring axles are hub face, spring center, and overhang.
Hub face is a measurement that defines the space between the outside faces of the hub. This is the face that the bolts protrude from, and the wheel touches. Spring center measures the space between the center of the leaf springs. Overhang is simply the space between the hub face and spring center.
Torsion Axles
The generally accepted measurements that define spring axles are hub face,outside-to-outside of bracket, and overhang.
Hub face is a measurement that defines the space between the outside faces of the hub. This is the face that the bolts protrude from, and the wheel touches. Outside-to-outside of bracket defines the space between the outside face of the two mounting brackets. Overhang is simply the space between the hub face and the outside of the mounting bracket.
Spindle Size
The spindle can be measured using calipers. The sizes for bearings and seals can be found by measuring the locations marked out below. The measurements on the spindle will act as the inner diameter measurement on your bearings and seals.
Spindles vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so there is no definitive list of bearing and seal sizes that will fit your spindle. To find what parts fit your spindle, call 515-262-8482 and our team will be glad to assist
