The roots of Duratek go back to 1927, when Holt Service Station was opened in Des Moines. Four generations later in 1996, Holt Sales and Service was started as a spin-off of the original Holt Tire Service and originally sold reconditioned trailer wheels. As the business grew, there was a demand for tire and wheel assemblies in both the OEM trailer and the short line agricultural industries.

We began sourcing quality tires and wheels both domestically and from abroad. These were assembled in the US and distributed around the US and Canada, building Holt Sales and Service a reputation as a provider of great service and quality products.
In 2016, HSI (Holt Sales and Service) saw a need for a quality axle manufacturer that focused on the customers’ needs and began manufacturing the Duratek line of axles, quickly establishing itself with quality products and innovative solutions.

Today we supply hundreds of manufacturers with both torsion and spring axles as well as a full line of components including brakes, springs, jacks, couplers, lighting, wiring, chains and much more. We are actively expanding into new markets and are also adding heavier axle capacities to our lineup. With our short lead times, quality products, and focus on exceptional customer service, we look forward to helping you for years to come.
